josh is amazing. he has such great energy & spirit. he came to los angeles march 3rd for an all day photo shoot. i brought my golden retriever & chesapeake bay retriever. my dogs are high energy on steroids and he was able to make the shoot fun and my dogs loved him. so, as any parent would smooth out their kid's hair for a picture, i was getting concerned that my one dog (the chessie) was drooling like niagra falls. so josh took pics and i was trying to wipe my dog down. at the end of the shoot, josh showed me the photos of tony (the chessie) drooling, and they were sooooooooo great!!!!!!!! i could not believe it! josh is such a good sould and that he just connected with my dogs' madness is a tribute to his talent and love of animals. the only problem, out of 310 pictures, how can i choose? i am so glad i had this man capture my dogs having fun and just being dogs. i never had my dogs professionally photographed and josh's artistry has made me a follower! call josh! now!

These were our first family photos so we wanted them to be fantastic. Josh exceeded our expectations. He really captured our personalities--he caught the mischievous twinkles in our kids' eyes. We had fun with his creative suggestions when our first choice in location didn't work out (ruins are meant to stay... ruined). He's an absolute riot. We will use him for our next family pictures, for sure, and we'll recommend him to everyone wanting beautiful, unique portraits.

Josh is amazing! I first found out about him many many years ago at a pet store and hired him to take photos of my pit bull. Since then he's taken photos of my little guy as he's grown up as well as my sister in law's wedding. He is so fun to be around and gets the most creative and unique shots. Every time I see the proofs I am amazed at how well he has captured the essence of my son and my family (and my dog!) I would highly recommend him.

We received this photo shoot as a very thoughtful gift from dear friends. Recently we took our little ferret to Josh's studio. Usually she is shy and reserved. However, throughout the session she was engaged with Josh and having a lot of fun. We have some amazing pictures to choose from that really show her personality! My only regret is that we didn't have these done when our other little ferret was still with us.

I met Josh for the first time several years ago when I hired him to take a picture of my dog Nelly. He was great with both me and the dog, so much fun and so talented. The pictures he printed for me perfectly captured the personality of my best friend and are still hanging in my home and office. I looked him up and went back 2 years ago to take pictures of 3 dogs together, that was a real challenge and he did a great job. The quality of his processing and print work is second to none. I got married last year I asked him to do the photography, it felt like I had a personal friend doing the photography, he really enjoys and cares about people and it comes across in the wedding pictures. I have referred friends and colleagues to him for family portraits and they have been equally happy. Over the years I have watched his innovation and creativity and would not dream of using any other professional photographer.
I am currently saving my pennies to have him do a one-of-kind Wetplate portrait, I have seen his show, these are amazing photographs, true art work.

I'm a regular at K9 Loft and recently took my dog there for a photo shoot session with Josh. The pictures were amazing! He set up his studio at the K9 Loft store in Pasadena and I spent 30 minutes with him taking all kinds of pictures. The were unlike any dog photos I have ever taken before. Really unique and just beautiful. I was looking for a good photographer to take pics of me and my dog for the longest time but all the ones I came across looked so cheesy. Josh really knows how to capture that special moment. When he returns to K9 Loft I will definitely do another set of pics with him.

Josh took some amazing pictures of our siberian husky a few weeks ago. I had been admiring his pictures at K9 loft in sherman oaks for some time. I often see emails that he's doing sessions here in LA and decided to hop on one of them as a gift to my boyfriend. We took our Siberian in on a Sunday and Josh got some really incredible pictures. He was personable and fun to be around for the hot sweaty session and Vox did great. We just ordered our pictures. I've already recommended him to a friend to contact to get pictures of his little girl taken.

A friend of mine bought me a gift certificate good for 1 session with Josh. He photographs everything from pets to families to food. He's got a very unique style that simply stands out. We decided to drive out to his studio in Utah to get the full experience even though he comes out to L.A. every so often. I emailed Josh and had no problem setting a date/time that worked for everyone. After a very cold sleep deprived 24 hr roundtrip drive I can still say it was worth it.
Josh is an all around great person. He even suggested local food/sites for us to see. As a photographer he was super friendly, informative and patient. My dog was trying to runaway and hide for a good while. He brought out several toys and even a blanket to put her at ease. He even changed the backdrop cuz he said some dogs freak out with too much white. Who'd have known?
I love my dog and would never have even thought about having a professional take pictures of her but i'm so glad I did :) It's a unique gift to give/receive not to mention a very memorable experience :D I'd totally book him again in the future.

Oh I have been remiss at posting this rec! Josh was recommended to us through a wedding planner in Park City. We wanted a great, high energy creative talent to shoot our daughters destination wedding at Amelia Island in Florida. Josh traveled to Florida, shot the entire days events and absolutely captured the majic of a very very special day in our lives! He connected with all of our family and friends and left us with images of the wedding that are spectacular! My only regret is that I didn't have him shoot the rehearsal dinner! As a side note; Josh has just shot our daughter, her husband and their new baby - can hardly wait to see how these turn out! I highly recommend Josh Blumental for personal or commercial photography!

I attended a wedding at Amelia Island where Josh was the photographer in Sept. 2009. He had also photographed engagement pictures of the bride and groom for their wedding site-these were Awesome! The couple, and their attendants, were so good looking he didn’t really need any help, but he did do a superb job. They even flew him out for the event from Salt Lake City, Utah. Mountain Man went to the beach.

Dear Josh, It has been just about two years ago that you came to up to Park City to photograph me and my dogs, Lucy and Nell. How life has changed...and you, my friend had a part. I used on the the photos of Nell and I...me in bare feet sitting on the floor with Nellie giving me a big kiss as my Match.com photo. It caught the eye of the most wonderful man with whom I now share my life. He now carries that photo with him when works takes him from home. Then there is Lucy. At the time you photographed her she was 15. We enjoyed another year together, then at age 16 her body just wore out. Now the photos you took remind me of that spirit that was so uniquie to my little back and white girl! So life goes on....A new man, two new dogs and two new cats join Nell and I on our journey.
